St. John’s work in collaboration with Premier Sport in order to provide a broad and balanced P.E. curriculum. Under government guidelines, children should take part in two hours of Physical Education per week. At St. John’s, this is in the form of structured physical activity and sport, including gymnastics, net and wall games, striking and fielding games, invasion games, dance, drama, outdoor adventurous activities and more. Through this, children learn about well-being and leading a healthy lifestyle, in addition to developing self-confidence, discipline, teamwork skills and improved fitness. Children have a balance of time being taught by our Premier Sport Activity Professional, Mr. Lord and by their class teacher.
St. John’s run a number of extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs, which change over the course of the year. Three of these after-school clubs per week are run by Premier Sport and others are run by members of the school staff. These range from gymnastics and multi-sports to fencing and football – there is something for everyone.
