Meet the class team
What are we learning about?
Welcome to another exciting half term in Year 6! In Literacy, we are covering instruction texts, newspapers and stories. In Maths, we are covering Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. Our topic is all about Slavery and we are all very excited for our Liverpool Slavery Museum trip on Friday 10th November. In Science, we are looking at Light. We’re all keen to do the investigations and experiments. In R.E., we are covering Love and Vocation.
To keep updated with all this, including Science investigations and our Liverpool trip, check out the class blog. You can find this under Pupils, School Blog on the website. The weekly spellings can also be found on here.
Learning at home
Learning Logs – these go out half-termly and are focused on our current topic. Please check the blog for most recent updates.
Maths homework – CGP books go out on a Friday and need to be completed and returned by the following Wednesday. Children need to regularly practise their times tables in order to prepare themselves for their SATs. Children can practise these on Times Table Rockstars:
Spellings – Spellings will go home weekly. Children will practise their spellings in school but they need to consolidate their learning at home to prepare for spelling tests on Wednesday.
Reading – Children need to read at least three times a week with an adult. Can adults please sign their children’s books when they have read with them.
