St. John’s works in partnership with Turton and Egerton Primary School in providing the School Direct Primary teacher training programme.
The teacher training consists of practical, hands-on training and education based in excellent schools across the North West of England. Courses generally last a year and all result in QTS. Trainees are awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Master’s-level credits upon completion.
School Direct at St. John’s
We currently have two School Direct trainees with us at St. John’s, working in different year groups across school. These students will complete placements here and a block placement in the Spring term at another school to ensure a broad and varied experience of teaching in different phases of primary education.
